Mahón, 05 October 2020
The Teatre Principal de Maó hosted last Saturday the Grand Sine Dolore Gala 2020 with the musical direction of the soprano María Camps and the presentation of Jordi Odri. This year's show was developed under the heading "Music and dance to look forward" as the first great social act against the coronavirus.
The large audience enjoyed the performances of prestigious local musicians such as The Gentlemen Jacks, Gibert Pons & Gerard Carrillos, Andrea Díaz & Joan Taltavull and Anabel Villalonga & María Camps.
In the final stretch of the show, a well deserved and emotional tribute was paid to the pianist Marlén Coll for her career of more than 15 years directing the Gran Gala Sine Dolore. Coll decided last year to put an end to this stage of her life by passing the baton to María Camps, who has been participating in the event for a long time.
COVID-19 has inflicted great physical pain on patients, who have required powerful analgesics, and great mental pain on their family and friends. Because of that, this year's Gala made more sense than ever and has been carried out with the effort and selfless collaboration of the artists, the volunteers of the Sine Dolore Foundation, the Teatre Principal de Maó, the Consell Insular de Menorca and the Mahón City Council.
