The award ceremony for the Sine Dolore World Park Excellence Awards held this Saturday at the Hotel Occidental Menorca in Punta Prima recorded a massive attendance of the public that filled the hall of the hotel establishment.
The event began at 9:00 p.m. with the performance of Arrels de Menorca, subsequently giving way to the award ceremony of the five prizes to the persons and / or distinguished entities.
The third Deputy Mayor of the City Council of Sant Lluís, Remigio Lora, gave the first Mateu Orfila award for Social Communication to the director of Onda Cero Menorca, Diana Font, for the tireless work of disseminating this means of communication for all projects carried out by the Spanish Association of Relatives and Patients with Pain and Sine Dolore European Pain Foundation, in the fight against persistent chronic pain and the improvement of the quality of life of the people who suffer it and that of their relatives.
Next, the national deputy Águeda Reynés presented the Dr. Fernando Rubió prize to the awareness and development of improvements in the field of pain to the delegate in Menorca of Mundiplan, Ms. Mercedes Navarro, for her extraordinary contribution to the quality of life of retired people, through its popular IMSERSO travel program.
The Hermanas María and Catalina Llabrés Piris Prize to the specialties for pain relief went to the University of the Balearic Islands, for their valuable and courageous commitment to the creation of the Faculty of Medicine. The vice president of the Island Council of Menorca, Cristina Gómez, presented the award to the vice-chancellor of Innovation and Institutional Relations of the University of the Balearic Islands, Dr. Jordi Llabrés.
The doctor-director of Kyowa Kirin laboratories, Antonio Jiménez, received the Carme Puntas Comella award for pharmacology and quality of life from the Councilor of Health of the Balearic Islands Government, Patricia Gómez Picard. This company in the field of health sciences and medicines is spread throughout Asia, America and Europe and stands out for its research and innovation in biotechnology, with the aim of contributing to the health and well-being of people.
Finally, the Sor Enriqueta prize for solidarity and well-being against pain went to the Social Work of La Caixa. The Bishop of Menorca, Francesc Conesa, proceeded to hand it over to the delegate in Menorca of CaixaBanc, José Antoni Tudurí. The Obra Social of La Caixa is a non-profit organization created in 1904 by the Caja de Ahorros y Pensiones de Barcelona ("la Caixa"), which was dedicated to managing the resources of the Caja's social work and which was created with the aim of contributing to the welfare of the people and responding to the needs of the society in which the financial activity was developed.
The award ceremony of the Sine Dolore World Park Awards for Excellence responds to a renewed formulation that circumscribes such awards to the fields of health, medicine, pain, pharmacology and, in general, to all branches of what modernly we know as health and welfare sciences. Thus, the delivery of the prizes Father Vicente Macián and Dr. Luis Aliaga, according to the bases and juries that regulate them for years, as one of the main events of the closing gala of the Sine Dolore World Park, is maintained, It is celebrated during the first week of May at the Teatro Principal de Maó, and the ceremony of the five Sine Dolore World Park Awards for Excellence is moved to October.
